Who we are

This website is run by You Can Fly Media Limited, trading as YCF Media, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16099492). Our registered office is 13 Elswick Road, Armstrong, Washington, NE37 1LH. We are the controller of any personal information covered by this notice.

What we collect from this website

Visitor statistics

We use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that we host ourselves, to count visits and see which pages are useful. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t collect your name or contact details and doesn’t follow you to other websites. We see totals, such as how many people visited a page, which country or device they used and whether they tapped a call button, not individual people.

Cookies

This website doesn’t set any cookies, so there’s no cookie banner. If that ever changes, we’ll update this notice and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Server logs

Like every website, our server keeps short-term technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to keep the site secure and working. These are used only for that purpose and are deleted routinely.

When you get in touch

If you call, WhatsApp, email or message us on social media, we’ll have whatever you share with us: usually your name, contact details, business details and what you’d like help with. We use it to reply, give you a quote and, if you become a client, to do the work.

Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and, for clients, the performance of our contract with you. We don’t sell your information and we don’t add you to marketing lists without your permission.

Clients

When we work for you, we keep the information needed to deliver the work and run the business: contact details, invoices, the content we create and access to the accounts you give us. Photos and videos we take of you, your team or your premises are only published with your agreement. Financial records are kept for six years because the law requires it. Everything else is kept for as long as we work together and a reasonable time afterwards, then deleted.

Who we share it with

We only share information with the services we need to run the business, such as our email, hosting, accounting and scheduling providers, and only as much as they need. Some of these providers may store data outside the UK, in which case they use the safeguards UK law requires. We’ll also share information if the law requires us to.

Links to other websites

Our pages link to other sites, such as Google Maps, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and our clients’ websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we’re not responsible for them.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, object to how we use it or ask us to limit it. Just email socialmedia@youcanflymedia.co.uk. We’ll reply within one month.

If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

We’ll update this page if anything changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
